Junior Volunteer Program
Volunteer Info
The CMoR Junior Volunteer Program allows students ages 14-17 to gain experience and complete any hours required for school by volunteering in a variety of museum areas.
Volunteers must commit to serve a minimum of 12 hours each month for a period of 3 months. Opportunities are available at both CMoR Central and CMoR Short Pump! We are currently accepting applications.
You must be age 14 or older to volunteer in any capacity at the Children's Museum of Richmond

Museum Areas
Volunteers will work in three main areas around CMoR :
Art Studio - Assist the Art Studio Coordinator in daily duties. Organize craft supplies, create displays, and maintain a clean and safe working space in the Art Studio.
Exhibits - Interact with families in the exhibit space. Show children how the exhibits work and give ideas for play. Responsible for helping keep the exhibit spaces organized and safe. Supervise children playing and pick up throughout the day.
Birthdays - Help make a child’s birthday extra special! Birthday Buddies help run parties by playing games with the party guests, also help with party room set up and take down.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and spots are limited at both locations, so apply early!
Program Details
- Most volunteers will work on weekends, but weekday mornings and afternoons are also available for students with flexible school schedules.
- Weekend shifts are typically 4 hours long, from 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm.
- Once the 3 month commitment is met students may continue to volunteer as their schedule permits
