CMoR Internships

CMoR offers internship opportunities throughout the year!

If you are a college student or recent graduate seeking a program that will utilize your interests and skills, then CMoR is the place for you! Here we will give you a chance to gain valuable experience in several areas in the non-profit industry.

Internships are available in all of our departments, so that you have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas:
Development
The Development department is responsible for fundraising for the museum’s annual fund and scholarship fund. The intern will assist the annual fund coordinator with fundraising projects, donor relationships, and administrative duties.

Finance and Accounting
The Finance department is responsible for reconciling cash flow in and out of the museum. The intern will assist in the Accounts Payable department and will gain experience in non-profit accounting.

Retail Management
The retail management intern will help in all of the aspects of running a store, they will assist with purchasing, pricing, general shop upkeep, and other duties as well.

Education
The education department is responsible for planning the classes and educational programs that the museum offers. The intern will assist the education coordinator with daily management of school field trips, camps, and other related programs and projects within the department.

Volunteer Coordination
The Volunteer coordinator is responsible for recruiting large groups as well as individuals for special events and on a day-to-day basis. The intern will assist the Volunteer Coordinator in managing volunteer planning, recruitment, placement, communications, training, supervision, record-keeping and special event staffing.

Guest Services
The Guest Services department is the face of CMoR and is responsible for providing an enjoyable experience for guests in all areas of the museum. The intern will assist with the admissions/information desk, monitoring the safety of children in the exhibit space, and birthday party management.

Art StudioThe Art Studio is a section of the museum that allows children to express their creativity and develop motor skills while making art projects to take home. The Art Studio intern will work closely with the Art Studio coordinator on special projects and in workshops.

Qualifications

  • Student at a college/university, graduate student or recent college graduate
  • Must be responsible and able to multi-task.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Must be comfortable with being responsible for a broad variety of tasks and must work well with others. Team player attitude.
  • Must be comfortable and knowledgeable of computers and various applications.
  • Must be dependable and flexible. Dynamic, outgoing, and energetic personality.

Hours are flexible based on the intern’s availability and vary between 10-20 hours a week.
