Scouting Saturdays

Can’t make it to an overnight…spend the day at CMoR!

Choose from multiple Petal/ Try-it Workshops throughout the day and explore the Museum floor. Each Scouting Saturday includes a Scout Social room that houses snacks and various craft activities for all participating troops, your choice of 1-3 Petal/ Try-It Workshops and a Children’s Museum of Richmond patch.

Green Girls! Scouting Saturday

November 7th

Learn about your world! From the ground to the sky, explore how the world works and how to protect it. Troops can choose from a variety of environmentally based petals/Try-it workshops lead by Museum Educators.

Petals: Use Resources Wisely, Make the World a Better Place, Considerate and Caring, Responsible for What I Say and Do

Try-its: Art to Wear, Earth and Sky, Science in Action, Science Wonders, Movers, Me and My Shadow, Animals

Me, Myself and I Scouting Saturday

February 6th

It’s all about you! This Saturday features Petals/Try-its that celebrate you. Even make scrap books and more in the Scout Social room.

Petals: Respect Myself and Others, Courageous and Strong, Responsible for What I Say and Do, Honest and Fair

Try-Its: Careers, Eat Right Stay Healthy, Healthy Habits, Me and My Shadow, My Body, Friends Are Fun, Manners

Scouting Saturday Prices

  • $12.00 per child – 1 Petal/Try-It Workshop
  • $18.00 per child- 2 Petal/Try-It Workshops
  • $24.00 per child- 3 Petal Try-It Workshops
  • Troop leaders and chaperones are free!

Scouting Saturday Registration Policies:

  • A minimum of one adult per 8 scouts is required for Scouting Saturdays.
  • A non-refundable $50 deposit is required to book a Scouting Saturday.
  • Full payment is required the day of the event.
  • The Museum reserves the right to cancel due to insufficient registrations one week before the event. In this case we will try to reschedule your troop. If we are unable to reschedule you, all deposits and fees will be refunded.
