Donate

Donate today to keep learning in play!

Your donation to the Children’s Museum means families will be able to continue learning through play for years to come! The Children’s Museum relies on gifts from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations to serve more than 200,000 visitors each year.

Any gift, large or small, helps make a difference. Here’s how:

Annual Fund

Gifts designated to the Annual Fund allow the museum to continue serving our community and may be used however needed in support of the museum’s mission.

Book Bank

Gifts to the Book Bank allow the museum to purchase new books whenever the Book Bank’s needs outnumber the books being donated by members of the community. These gifts become particularly helpful when bilingual books are requested! Learn More

Access For All

Our Access for All program makes it possible for low-income and at-risk children, families, and schools to receive free and/or reduced access to the museum’s resources. This includes single day admissions, Scholarship Family Memberships, field trips, caregiver education, and age-appropriate books, all as a part of our goal to provide growing access to the museum for those who need it most. Family Education

Gifts support caregiver education for low-income and at-risk communities. Learn More

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

Did you know that if you are 70 ½ or older a donation from your IRA directly to the Children’s Museum of Richmond can provide great tax benefits? An IRA owner who is 70 ½ or older can donate and therefore exclude up to $100,000 from gross income of their required minimum distribution; for a married couple, if both individuals are age 70 ½ or over and both have IRAs, each person can exclude up to the $100,000, totaling $200,000 per year.

If you wish to take advantage of this great program, please contact your IRA plan administrator – the donation must come directly from your IRA to the Children’s Museum. And, please make sure that your plan administrator includes your name and address so that the Children’s Museum can mail you a written acknowledgment of your contribution.
