A: The Children’s Museum’s exhibits, activities, and programs are especially designed to serve the cognitive, developmental, and creative needs of children ages birth to 8. The museum welcomes children with developmental delays or special needs up through age 10. Due to the nature of the exhibits, the museum is not recommended for older children.
A: Groups who are visiting the museum that are not signing up for a field trip are welcome at any time. We do, however, require that there be (1) chaperone (18 years of age or older) per every (5) children.
A: The museum’s operating hours from Labor Day – Memorial Day are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Operating hours from Memorial Day – Labor Day are 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
A: The museum is closed on 4th of July, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. The museum is open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, New Year's Day, and Labor Day.
A: General admission is $9.00 for visitors between the ages of one and 60. Children under age one are FREE and seniors receive a $1.00 discount. From Labor Day to Memorial Day (September to May), after 4:00 p.m. admission is only $4.00 per person!
A: The Museum accepts all major credit cards and cash. Checks are not accepted.
A: Though the visitor experience varies with each family, an average visit can last approximately three hours.
A: Staff members and volunteers will be happy to help you find your favorite exhibit and answer any questions.
A: Guests are welcome to bring lunches and snacks, and tables are provided in the lobby. For the safety of our little guests, food is not allowed in the exhibit areas. Our museum shop features a kiosk that offers frozen yogurt, juice drinks and other snacks. There are numerous kid-friendly restaurants located in the immediate vicinity of the museum as well, and a list can be obtained at the front desk. A: Admission is good for the entire day, so visitors may leave and return as long as they keep their admission stickers or receipts.
A. Visitors are welcome to use the coat racks located near the museum entrance.
A: Exhibit spaces are specifically designed to be wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs can be rented at the front desk.
A: Guests are permitted to bring strollers and they may be used in all areas of the museum. Strollers may also be rented at the front desk.
A: Adults must accompany children at all times. Children may not enter the museum without an adult and adults may not enter the museum without a child. In addition, children are encouraged to:
A ratio of 1 adult for every 5 children is required for admission into the museum. Adults are encouraged to play (and learn!) with their families, too. To maintain our family-friendly environment, profanity is prohibited, as well as all other abusive behavior, and will result in being asked to leave the facility.
A: Our museum shop carries over 2000 educational toys, games, art and craft supplies, musical instruments, intriguing books, hands-on projects, and more! Admission is not required in order to visit our museum shop.
