5 Books for FREE Admission! 

The Children’s Museum of Richmond, in partnership with the Central Virginia Children’s Book Bank, will celebrate National Reading Month with FREE admission for children who donate at least 5 books to the Book Bank on Sundays throughout the month of March. To receive free admission, children can bring books to any Children’s Museum of Richmond location on the following dates:

  • Sunday, March 4, 2018
  • Sunday, March 11, 2018
  • Sunday, March 18, 2018
  • Sunday, March 25, 2018 

All Children deserve high quality books to call their own! The mission of the Central Virginia Children's Book Bank is to put books directly into the hands of children.The goal of the book drive is to collect 5,000 books. Books will be distributed to children throughout Central Virginia. Books must be new or gently used.

The Central Virginia Children’s Book Bank does not accept the following:

  • Kid’s Meal books (Chick-fil-a)
  • Books that are damaged or musty
  • Books that have writing throughout
  • Library Discards
  • Textbooks
  • Workbooks
  • Sudoku
  • Crossword Puzzles
  • Sticker Books
  • Coloring Books
  • Encyclopedias
  • Dictionaries
  • Any books with CD’s or DVD’s
  • Adult themed books
  • Magazines

Any aforementioned items donated to the Book Bank will not qualify for a free child admission. Valid for child admission only. Not valid for group visits. Children must be within acceptable ratio of one adult for every 5 children.
