Students will learn about the life cycle and parts of a butterfly body through literature, song and art. The program also includes the life cycle of a frog if developmentally appropriate.

This program is inspired from the book How the Snake Got His Hiss by Marguerite W. Davol. This delightful picture book tells of a story about a snake who went from hopping to hissing and explores patterns and rhythms. Students will be able to learn about patterns in nature and create simple rhythms through many hands-on manipulatives.
Puppet Palooza

Children will participate in dramatic play by using puppets and props to tell a story. Students will be introduced to a variety of puppets. Children will have an opportunity to create puppets using lunch bags.

Students will examine the needs of a plant, parts of a plant and how season affect plants. Through storytime and hands on activities, students will gain a greater understanding of how plants grow. Students will also make a garden starter kit.
Water Wonders!

Wild about water? Students will learn about how the water cycle works and investigate underwater habitats. Students will listen to a story, sing songs and participate in hands-on activities. Students will create a water - inspired work of art.

Students will learn about the five senses and which body parts are used for each sense. Students will explore their senses through storytime, hands-on activities and an art project.
Kindergarten Readiness Block
All Preschool field trip programs promote Kindergarten readiness. The Kindergarten Readiness Block is comprised of three programs in particular that focus deeply on Literacy, Math and Science Foundation Blocks. Each program can be booked separately, but booking all three throughout the school year provides maximum impact. If all three are booked, we offer a discount on admission – call our Program Coordinator for details.
Magic Hat! Magic Hat!
Students will listen to and discuss the book The Magic Hat by Mem Fox. Students will identify new vocabulary and make predictions about the story. The story visuals help students to form words using letters. Afterwards, students will design and create their own magic hat using stamps, fabrics and stickers!
Read-Create-Move

Students will learn about patterns in nature, create simple rhythms and practice counting using drums, visuals and pattern blocks. At the end of the program, students will create a fun craft to take home!
Grow and Learn
Discover how animals and plants change over time! Students will learn how baby animals grow and how caterpillars turn into butterflies. They will listen to and discuss the book Waiting for Wings by Lois Elhert. Students will participate in a song and dance to learn about metamorphosis. An interactive magnet board will help students identify life cycles for plants. Students will create butterfly puppets, seed puppies and more!
