CMoR Art Classes April 3, 2008 to April 25, 2008

9:30 AM - 10:15 AM - every 1 week

Learn papermaking, drawing, watercolor and more in these 45-minute art classes.

Classes for 3 – 6 year-olds are offered every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. To view the class schedule, click here!

Making A House A Home April 4, 2008

Please enjoy the collages made by guests and staff at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond, on display in the Museum’s Community Galleries through May 25, 2008.

Over the past eight months, the participating artists have interpreted their favorite room of the house in delightful dimension. Be sure to look for the yellow pipe cleaner chandelier and the purple sequin beanbag chair.

Art Fun With Frog And Toad April 7, 2008 to April 13, 2008

Art Fun With Frog And Toad Every day through April 12

CMoR guests are invited to participate in this special Frog and Toad art project that will be displayed in the cafe at Barnes & Nobles at Libbie Place between April 15 – 30.

Frog and Toad are good friends who enjoy each other’s company. They like to play outside, fly kites together, celebrate Toad’s birthday, and even share the shivers when one of them tells a scary story. Who do you like to spend time with? And what do you enjoy doing together?

Draw a picture of the two of you spending time together. Give the finished drawing to the Art Studio Staff. After the artwork is displayed at B&N, it can be picked up during the month of May at the Art Studio.

Toddler Time is a special program that takes place on the second Tuesday of each month.

Pinwheels For Prevention April 11, 2008

April is National Child Abuse Prevention month! Join Greater Richmond SCAN and CMoR in supporting “Pinwheels for Prevention.”

Pinwheels are the new symbol for child abuse prevention and the efforts being made to help all children have the safe, stable, nurturing families they deserve. By promoting positive parenting and healthy families, every child will benefit.

Contribute to child abuse prevention awareness on April 11 by visiting our art studio and making a Pinwheel for Prevention!

Radio Disney Presents Project PLANT IT!

Enjoy Radio Disney’s performance of Project PLANT IT! at 1:00 & 2:00 p.m. along with music, Tree Trivia games, and prize giveaways! Project PLANT IT! is a partnership among Dominion, the Arbor Day Foundation and area elementary schools.

Project PLANT IT! teaches kids about the value of trees in the eco-system including how they help to moderate climates, improve air quality, absorb carbon, harbor wildlife, prevent soil erosion and reduce heating and cooling costs.
