Get the 411 on CMoR's New Studio 101

Did you know that the benefits of early art education extends well beyond providing a creative outlet for children? Research shows that participation in the arts helps to develop fine motor, language and problem solving skills just to name a few.

CMoR knows how important early art education is and that’s why we are excited to introduce Studio 101!

Studio 101 is for children ages five through nine and will take place every third Saturday of the month from 10am to 12pm. Each workshop will be hosted by a different visiting artist who will work directly with your child on various projects.

The workshop also includes a gallery opening the following week where your young artist can not only show off their work but also have the option of selling it along side the hosting artists’ work with proceeds benefiting the CMoR art studio.

Sounds great right? What could make it even better? How about the fact that you can drop your child off and pick them up at the end? That’s right parents two hours of free time on a Saturday!

The very first Studio 101 will be puppet-making with local artist Matt Lively on Saturday, January 16th from 10am to 12pm. Kids can make their very own puppet and then show it off in the gallery opening on Friday, January 22nd. There will also be a puppet stage so kids can put their puppet to the test.

Don’t worry! Studio 101 is in addition to, not replacing, CMoR’s art workshops. Art Workshops allow children ages four to nine and a participating parent explore different art techniques. Art Workshops are held on the first Saturday of every month from 9:45 to 10:30am.

Let your child be one of the first to experience Studio 101. Early art education is beneficial and a ton of fun!

All classes require pre-registration and payment. For information and reservations please call in advance 474-7015 or e-mail us.
