School Officials Come Together at CMoR

Today was a historic day at the Children's Museum of Richmond. We were proud to welcome 8 superintendents from area school districts to make a very special announcement. For the first time, the ten school districts in our region will hold Kindergarten registration on the same day this year, April 7th.

Vote for the Snow Queen!

I am very excited to have been involved in such a wonderful and unique scholarship program for young women!

This is the 2nd year that we are offering the Snow Queen scholarship to a local high school junior. We partnered with GRASP to bring this great opportunity to area students. The scholarship was developed in 2009 to bring the character of the Snow Queen to life, and to reward a great student that exhibits a love of children along with a balance of academics, athletics, and other extracurricular activities.

No Creativity Crisis at CMoR!

Blog Image:

At the Children’s Museum we overhear all kinds of questions every day. At the front desk, in the exhibits and in camps, staff and parents spend the day answering questions like, “Why is Seymour red?”, “How does pizza cook?”, “Why do people snore?” and so many more. What is important to realize as a parent or caregiver is that when children ask you 452 questions each day it is not just to drive you bonkers. They are working on developing their creativity, even though they might not know it at the time.
