School Officials Come Together at CMoR

Today was a historic day at the Children's Museum of Richmond. We were proud to welcome 8 superintendents from area school districts to make a very special announcement. For the first time, the ten school districts in our region will hold Kindergarten registration on the same day this year, April 7th.

In attendance today were: Dr. Janet Crawley from Charles City, Dr. Marcus J. Newsome from Chesterfield, Dr. Stewart D. Roberson from Hanover, Dr. Pat Russo of Henrico , Dr. Rick Richardson of New Kent, Dr. Jo Bunce from Colonial Heights, Dr. Alvera J. Parrish from Petersburg, and Dr. Yvonne W. Brandon from Richmond.

The superintendents spoke on the importance of registering your child for kindergarten on time. Not only does it help the school districts prepare in terms of budget and staffing needs, it will allow you and your future student more time to prepare at home.

Remember, any child that will be 5 years old by September 30th of this year is eligible for Kindergarten registration.
